Vehicles, assets and equipment

The right to an item and the right to the place where it is stored are different rights. IDMATIC NET governs them separately and links them into one process.

Vehicles

  • An entry right is created for the vehicle and linked to the driver and, where required, to passengers.
  • Constraints are set by zone, gate, time and purpose of entry.
  • Entry and exit events are recorded as part of the right lifecycle.
  • A vehicle right can be revoked independently of the driver's rights.

Keys

A key is treated as an object of a right, with issue, custody and return recorded. An unreturned key remains an open obligation of the subject and is visible in the audit trail.

Physical assets

The right to open the issue point

Permission to access a room, cabinet or storage locker. It grants no right to the contents.

The right to receive a specific asset

Permission to receive a specific unit. Verified separately and recorded as a transfer of custody.

Separating these rights removes the situation where access to a storage location implicitly grants a right to anything kept there.

Equipment

  • The right to operate equipment is linked to the subject's clearances and to a validity period.
  • State is tracked: issued, in use, returned, unavailable.
  • Expiry of a clearance terminates the right of use without manual intervention.
